Went their for a heel pain. Planter Faciaties w bone spur. He is a rip off . Charged $80 for Xray when Rothman charged only $20. He made me come next day again to give the steroid shot and pay $30 copay . He couldn't do it same day . When Rothman did it in first visit . This doctor didn't recommend any PT or any advise , he wanted me to buy $500 orthotics sole. That was his final solution . And charged me $30 for Dr. Blaine's Ortho Nesic Pain Relieving Gel. When Amazon sell that only for $18 ..... he's a rip off. Don't visit him.

There is absolutely no better Podiatrist than Bruce Zappan (trust me---I have been to 4!). However, for the past several years, Bruce is the ONLY doctor I would ever trust to treat my feet. He is the SOLE reason I am still able to play tennis. He has treated me for Plantar Fasciitis in both heels, curing me of a 20-year plus problem in the right foot and now treating me for a new bout of PF in my left. Caring, compassionate, innovative, friendly and funny, Bruce is the Podiatrist for you!

Was very easy to get an appointment, and the location is super convenient for me - in the middle of center city. Upon arrival there was very little paperwork and wait time before seeing Dr. Zappan. Dr. Zappan was super helpful; in addition to fitting me for custom orthotics, made recommendations for sneakers etc. Overall a very positive experience and I highly recommend him and his practice.

I was able to come in that day, schedule a follow up right away, and he also referred me to another doctor for a totally different issue so kindly and promptly. He demonstrates a thorough knowledge of his field, presents options for treatment, and gently performs necessary procedures. Do not I repeat do not go to this office! This doctor was treating me for dry skin on my feet. I purchased a kit that costed $125.00. No results. Next visit I was told that he could prescribe something that would work much better that was covered under my insurance but probably have a high co pay. I think he wanted it to be a high co pay since I made such a fuss about his recommended kit that didn’t work.Fortunately I have great insurance and the co pay wasn’t that much but the medicine didn’t work at all. This doctor is looking to get you to purchase products and pay co pays and in the end no results. His attitude is horrible. I missed an appointment and he called personally to give a lecture about it. I asked to reschedule at first and then realized his attitude and asked to be canceled all together especially since I have seen no results in 5 months. He called back to be very argumentative and threatened to charge me for a previous missed appt that I didn’t even realize I had missed. This doctor is out for money and your will get no good results. Very unprofessional. Do not sign any contract if you do go he will use it to charge you for missed appts.

Dr. Zappan is awesome! He totally helped my foot, I had a pinched nerve and every step was painful. He ordered me insoles which made a huge difference and gave me me super helpful suggestions. If you have feet this should be your podiatrist.

His staff Kim is great. Dr. Zappan, on the other hand, is a waste of your time. I went to him after I broke 2 toes playing beach volleyball. He put me in a boot for two months. He scheduled me for weekly appointments where he would re-wrap the toes and bill accordingly. He would not let me take the X-Rays with me after any appointment without paying for a copy. He also uses the outdated, non-digital X-Rays -- all doctors are supposed to switch over by this year, so what is he waiting for? Dr. Zappan also pressured me to use a K-laser on my broken toes because it was "healing too slowly." He said if I didn't do it, I'd be coming back to his office many additional times to re-wrap the toes until they healed. The K-laser not covered by insurance. It's $400 a session. He's one of the only podiatrists in Philadelphia who has a K-laser because the results are mediocre. My childhood podiatrist had one for a couple years then got rid of it because it's a waste of a patient's money. After two months of visits, I told him I had to get off the boot for a 2-week vacation I had booked, but he said that my toes had not healed. Frustrated, and without a copy of the X-Ray (because Zappan wouldn't give it to me), I went to my childhood podiatrist in Trenton. He took an X-Ray and asked on what planet had my X-Ray shown that my toes had not healed enough to remove the boot. When I told him it was Dr. Zappan, he said he knew Bruce and don't go back to him ever again. I told him how Dr. Zappan brags about the high-profile patients he receives and how much he gets paid to speak at conferences ($20 a minute?!), and my childhood podiatrist said, "That's sad, because I've never bragged to you, but I make double that at the conferences where I speak."

I would rate this as no stars if I could. His office staff is very nice and easy to work with. The Dr. on the other hand is rude, unprofessional, has a personal vm attached to his office that goes to a "Kim" and is often FULL. I had an MRI scheduled with Jefferson and my insurance required an authorization. He did not have this authorized and was out of town at a medical conference and could not address it in time. My appt was canceled and took over a week to obtain. Today I talk to him just to find out what else I can do until I come in to lessen the pain; he says he needs me to come in so he can wrap it again. This costs $75 and only lasts 1 day, I am not able to do this every day until I can get an MRI and wait for the results. He kept saying I was not "compliant" and that he is not the Dr for me if I am not compliant. Compliance meant I should have kept the appt scheduled even though the MRI hasn't occurred. I have never been talked to like this by a Dr. Honestly I questioned his practice due to the unprofessional approach when I did see him. Now I think he is a jerk and has ZERO manners or consideration for a patient in pain. I would NEVER recommend this Dr.

Custom orthotics to deal with arthritis in my toes and the plantar issues, he had fashioned. He is kind and caring, careful and attentive. He's innovative, fashioning devices specifically for YOUR needs and even using a high-tech laser treatment to help reduce inflammation. Easy to secure an appointment, Bruce ---and not to forget his pleasant and friendly assistant Kim-- are a great team. And his office is super clean and has the best background music playing! You won't find a better Podiatrist.
