“VA Portland, OR, Primary care Provider to Veterans.”
In Oct 2003, I joined the VA medical program, as a Vet who served in the USAF 1961-65. I was assigned to Curtis-Klinger as my PCP in Dec of the same year. I'm not too sure why she chose to do a Ferritin level of my blood (I'm told that is not normal) but she discovered that I had a high Iron overload disease known as Hemochromatosis. If caught early enough it is quite treatable thru Phlebotomies, performed every so often. If not diagnosed, the iron overload attacks major organs, eg; liver, pancreas, heart, etc and could become fatal.
PA Curtis-Klinger, so thankfully, diagnosed my condition early and prescribed Phlebotomies to bring my danger levels to a controllable level. That started 12 years ago and I am forever grateful for her skills and intellect and wish her well with her practice in the Dalles Ray Winward, Waldport, OR 97394.
