“Parents Beware”
I brought my 3 year old for an appointment with this woman and I am completely shocked and horrified at what has transpired. My son is not talking as much as I would like, but he does say a lot of words. He also became extremely picky about eating in the past year and mainly only eats pediasure and snacks. I don't like this, but pediasure meets all of his dietary needs. I asked her advice on this and she had none. She examined him, proclaimed him 'obviously healthy', gave me referrals to a couple specialists for his speech and eating issues, then called DCF on me! She told them that he's not talking or eating at all, so basically yeah, she called them and made up lies. I have no idea why and when I confronted her she said something like, "Ok, well I'm not gonna argue with you, I'm glad he's getting help." Never mind the fact that I went to her asking for referrals to have his speech and eating worked on. By the way my son is not scrawny, he has a little pudgy belly. He is very obviously not malnourished or neglected. I have no idea whatsoever why she did this, she seemed like a nice normal person. I guess some people just shouldn't be in medicine.
I took him to a real Dr. at the children's medical center in Farmington a week later who proclaimed my son in the height and weight range for his age group. Apparently there is a magic chart only available in Carly's office saying my son is 10 pounds underweight. This same Dr. proclaimed that Carly has no idea what she's doing. Can't disagree with that one.
