Dr. Zalvan is an expert with the vocal cords. I went to Dr. Zalvan after 2 years of losing my voice. It ended up being a partial paralyzed vocal cord which my primary doctor failed to diagnose. He filled my paralyzed vocal cord and had I gone to him sooner it could be have been treated with steroids and antibiotics. My husband too was a former patient of his and he helped him with swallowing issues and he worked miracles on both of us.

I had know of Dr Zalvan for years being a former Voice Professor at the Mozartina Musical Arts Conservatory in Tarrytown and being a Classically trained singer but this was my first time as a patient. I found the doctor to be caring, and informative pinpointing that my vocal chords looked in good vocal shape without any swelling or nodules as he scoped me, but only weak due to a recent upper respiratory virus that he said only time and vocal therapy and going slow in my practice sessions time alone would heal. Dr. Zalvan gave me a couple types of nasal sprays to use meanwhile and some good vocal advise.

I will definitely refer my friends and family to him. However, the front desk staff was great except on representative. She spoke loud. I was shocked because it’s a doctors office. She could definitely use some retraining on the bologna her voice in the waiting area . But overall my experience with Dr. Zalvan and his assistant was awesome.

No worries." As promised, it worked out just fine. Zalvan is extremely thorough. He is going to perform an esophageal scope at the end of the month and is also sending me to Phelps for a barium test. This, in an effort to ensure that there are no unforeseen problems/issues. I am also a professional singer and he knows all of the ways to help me to keep my vocal chords in tip-top shape. I was so impressed by Dr. Zalvan, that I sent him an email after I arrived home from today's office visit. I thanked him for being so wonderful AND let him know that I am interested in having him evaluate me on a regular-basis.
