I was signed up with The University of Iowa Hospital for Knee replacement surgery, however, after talking with several people that already had knee/hip or shoulder surgery with Dr. Jones, I decided to get an appointment with him to evaluate my options at a closer hospital to my residence in Charles City. After reviewing my x-rays with Dr. Jones....I found him to be very personable....extremely knowledgeable...and quite flexible with his humor. After answering several questions to my satisfaction, I asked what replacement knee he used. I already did my product research and was partial to two products......A replacement called the "Oxford" and the Smith & Nephew.....Dr. Jones showed me the sample he preferred in several knee replacement surgery's.....which happened to be a Smith & Nephew. At that point, he had completed 1600 surgery's, all of which he did himself. At that point, I was quite confident in his medical ability so I scheduled an appointment for November 6, of 2012 and every phase of my medical treatment was first class. Dr. Jones visited me 5 times in four days during my surgery. His "bedside" manner was second to none. The entire staff at Mercy gave me excellent care.....but why wouldn't they.....I'm was a model patient. I had a medical need, I put my trust in them.....they all did their job and I just had my "one year" exam with Dr. Jones.....I got an A plus... Will I go back to Dr. Jones and Mercy......just as soon as my other knee is ready. Jerry L Mead

They got me in early and were very attentive to make sure that they could do everything possible so that I would not get ill after surgery as I had in the past. Dr. Jones did my left knee replacement 4 years ago and I knew if I ever needed another one, I would wait as long as I had to in order to have him do the other one. That happened and once again, I had a perfect outcome. I am now pain free and looking forward to many years of use from my new knees, pain free and limp free. Dr. Jones is the most caring Dr. He really cares about his patients and at my follow-up appointment today he said he would follow me forever to make sure my knees stayed the best they could for as long as possible. He's simply the best, I could not have gotten better care anywhere else in the world.
