“unprepared, inappropriate facial gestures”
Recently I was sent to this person for an examination due to an injury on the job. He proceeded to ask a lot of questions and took notes. It was obvious that he doesn't trust any "injured worker." I say this because I know someone who saw him once at the request of the workers comp insurance carrier. He clearly bases his opinion on what the insurance carrier wants him to say.
After the short exam, he stated that he needed to read my records and then he would compile his report.
When I received his report in so many words I was called a liar and my herniated disk was in his words pre-existing as well as my other injuries.
I saw another IME about 3 times. He was very professional and truly cared. He was honest and agreed with my treating doctors. I now know why I was sent to David West, DO. The insurance carrier needed a dishonest person and they certainly found one.
Whether you a an "injured worker" or a person in need of medical care, I would think twice before booking an appointment with David West, DO.
I was nurse for fourteen years until found out i have ms so i had stop working and get tenncare. recently I fell and torn 3 of my acl on the right knee. First of all he didn't read my chart he came the room and he look at my insurance decided not to do sx. on my knee. I was in pain for two weeks and i never ask for pain meds until yesterday and he said i will give you only 20 lortabs for pain and stated you need make it last for three weeks because i don't give out pain medicine. I wish I can take a bat and pop him in his r knee and tell him i will only give him 20 pills for three weeks. this doctor needs to retired. It sad When i was a nurse we use to refer over 200 patients to dr. west. I wouldn't let himwork my dog, but his nurse was very nice and had great bed side manner
