As a first time mommy, it was a no brainer as to who I was going to chose as my son's pediatrician. Dr. Markouizos was also my pediatrician and always made my visits happy ones. He's kind, gentle, smart, reliable and truly one of a kind. I honestly did not realize how great he was until I saw him with my own child who has severe allergies to dairy and soy along with laryngomalacia. He was able to root through the issues very quickly, and was always there to take our calls or immediately call us back if we were not able to get a hold of him. As 1st time nervous parents, this took a lot of our stress away. I highly recommend him for all parents with children. I promise, you will not be disappointed and he will always guide you with your child's best interests in mind.

I've known Dr. Markouizos over 25 years. He is the most caring, compassionate, knowledgeable, professional doctor I have ever dealt with. My son was born with various health issues, and Dr. Markouizos made himself available to us literally 24 hrs. a day, 7 days a week. During the worst times (surgeries, one diagnosis after the other) he was there with reassurance and he was ALWAYS right. He always sent us to the best drs and I am happy to say that our son, graduauated pre-med from Stony Brook (after others told us he should be institutionalized). He is truly the best. God bless him.

For a brief period, I went to other doctors when my insurance changed and never received the kind of care that he gave. Upon getting very sick and misdiagnosed by a different doctor, I found my way back to him and he immediately knew what was wrong. I left feeling relieved and recovered rapidly. When I was around 10 years old, I was experiencing severe knee pain and my parents took me to my local pediatrician. That doctor had told my parent's that I was just experiencing growing pains and that it would go away shortly. A few days later, I woke up in the morning with a high fever and my knee swollen to double its normal size. My parents immediately took me to Dr. Markouizos who quickly and accurately diagnosed me with Lyme disease which was verified at the hospital later that day. If it wasn't for Dr. Markouizos, I could have ended up with serious side effects later on. Later on in life when I eventually have children of my own, I hope Dr. Markouizos is around so he can look after them!

I have often been to the emergency upon his request and when they ask who is the childs doctor when i say it's Dr. Markouizos, the ER doctor and nurses know him immediately and tell me what a great doctor he is. Dr Mark is by far the best pediatrician in New York, he is patient,caring, fun and most importantly has a heart of gold. i was blessed with finding Dr Mark when I was 8 months pregnant after just one conversation i knew he was going to be the pediatrician for my daughter. He spoke to me and calmed all my fears before my daughter was born and ensured that he would be there every step of the way when she was born but i really wasn't expecting him to actually be there and be as involved as he was, see my daughter was born a month later and was in the nicu for a week and after work every day he would stop by and check on her and he would call once a day to ensure that all was well. my daughter is now 11 and we still come to him for every little thing. I've been taking both my children to Dr. Markouizos since they were born. He is the best physician. I live in New Jersey and still travel to Queens to have him treat and care for my children. He goes beyond what a normal physician does for his patients. I have followed him from practice to practice because I don't trust anyone else with my kids. One time my daughter was having a severe asthma attack when she was 2 years old in the middle of a snow storm, Dr. Markouizos called an ambulance to take her to the hospital, when the ambulance was taking too long he paid for a cab to take us. When we got to the hospital, he continued to call the hospital to make sure that she was triaged swiftly and provided a private room immediately. They took such good care of us because of his insistence and persistence. I even had the Head of Oncology come visit my daughter's hospital room to make sure she and I were both taken care of. The best care I've ever experienced in a hospital and it was due to Dr. Markouizos. I have hundreds of stories of his excellent care and recommend him to everyone who has children.

He has been our family's pediatrician for over 21 years. He genuinely cares for his patients and their parents and is one of the most loving people I have ever met. When my daughter was 1, she was having a severe allergic reaction. I called his office, he got on the phone right away and told me to bring her in his office right away. As soon as we came, he took her into his hands and within minutes, my daughter was back to normal. He is amazing and never forgets a patient- which is rare to find.

After multiple visits to multiple pediatricians in the tri-state area and not being satisfied with the care, service and follow-up with doctors I have taken my son to that has all changed 2 years ago after I came across Dr. Markouios's office. I made an appointment and since than I cannot explain how content both my son and I. He is attentive,thorough, a professional and genuinely cares for each of his patients. My daughter was diagnosed by the doctor at the age of 3 with Wilms tumor. She had no symptoms at all. Dr Markouizos was so thorough he didn't like how her abdomen felt. Memorial Sloan doctors tell us often how lucky we are to have such a great doctor.

Dr. Markouizos and his team are smart, kind, and honest. The staff listen to you to make sure you are heard. I had breastfeeding concerns in the beginning and he knew it was very important to me. They built a team around me with a lactation consultant, ENT and Dr. Markouizos and made the best options for me and my daughter. We have been going strong for a year now. The staff is friendly, will get you in at the drop of a hat. They are detailed and educate you to be an empowered parent.

Ever since I was born, I came to Dr. Markouizos. I would come to him for anything serious or just a normal check-up. I can't say enough about the amazing experience i had with my little girl with this amazing doctor. My baby had RSV at 2 months old and Dr. Markouizos took initiative and took all the right steps possible to make sure her condition wasn't worsening. He would call me every night to make sure she was doing ok which shows to me the kind heart and affection he has. Any questions or concerns I ever have, he addresses them in a way that makes me feel confident and safe knowing I am in amazing hands.

Our doctor, Dr. Markouizos has truly helped us and has been there from the very beginning. He also helps by giving us formula for our son and other products free of charge. The office is very clean and everything who works here goes above and beyond to make sure you are comfortable and make understand everything that is needed if your child is sick. Dr. Markouizos has been my daughter's pediatrician for all 17 years of her life. He is personable, listens, and really cares. He has made good referrals to specialists, when necessary. Today was a follow up appointment after my daughter had a serious allergic reaction and he is systematically going through all the possibilities to figure out what caused the reaction. While his office is sometimes chaotic, Dr. Markouizos will always spend adequate time with you and make sure that your concerns are heard.

My son now 14 has seen doctor Markouizos since he was a week old, and has been just amazing. A true old fashioned family doctor, he is really committed to his patients. Kindly, warm, thorough, careful and ready to go the extra mile. When we first came, my son was days old. Dr. Markouizos gave an exam and ran some tests. Later in the day the results came back for abnormal billyrubin and when Dr. Markouizos's staff could not get through to us by phone, he sent a nurse to our house (!!!) to knock on the door to get us to go the ER, staying with us until we were in the cab. Extraordinary care and service, especially for a NYC doctor. Truly amazing, warm and wonderful person and doctor.

Dr. Markouizos has been our Pediatrician since our daughter was born (she is now 4). He is caring, kind, and knows what he is doing. In this era of "walk-in" Dr's, where there is no consistency, Dr. Markouizos rises above. He has a thriving practice and sees many patients, but takes the right amount of time with you. You never leave with any questions. We lived 10 mins from his office, but have moved, and we travel to see him because he is that wonderful. He has also guided us through a health issue with our daughter and without fail came to the hospital to care for my daughter. We will always be his patient and friend.
