Dr. Heltzer has extensive experience in glaucoma surgery and management, and is a Washington-area leader in several innovative laser surgery techniques. He is an accomplished cataract surgeon as well, specializing in small incision surgery with the latest toric and multifocal artificial lenses.
In 2010, he was a national spokesperson for the American Academy of Ophthalmology’s Glaucoma Awareness Month. He currently serves as a clinical correspondent for the Academy and was selected for its Leadership Development Program.
