“Ms. Muchnick was extremely rude, angry, and condescending.”
I had made a contact lense appointment with Margaret Muchnick, OD at the Quakertown, PA store at 721 SO West End Blvd. During the exam, when asked which lense was clearer 1 or 2, I had to backtrack a few times because the clarity was very similar between the two. When I asked her to show me the last ones again to be sure, she huffed in an exasperated way. She was obviously annoyed that I asked her to take a little more time to make sure I chose the correct one. Finally she had written a contact lens prescription and I was told the trial pair would be in about a week from then. I picked the lenses up and tried them the next morning. The left eye was very wrong. I could see better with no contact lens in at all. I called the office and explained that the prescription must be wrong and they scheduled another appointment for a week later. The day of the appointment, the office called and said that Ms. Muchnick was not in and I'd need to reschedule. I made another appointment for a few days later at 7:30 PM.
I went in to the appointment at 7:20 PM and was not called into see Ms. Muchnick until 8:10 PM. When she asked what the issue was, I explained that the prescription must have been incorrect and explained why. She immediately became very defensive and angrily told me that I was being "Insulting". I was wearing my old prescription lenses at the time of the visit and she asked me to read the letters on the wall to verify if I could see clearly with them. I could see just fine as I have been wearing this prescription for a year. At this point she said "OK I'll just write you a prescription for the same one as you had before". I explained that I would not like a prescription that matched my old one, I would like to know if my prescription had changed and to be provided with a correct updated prescription. At this point she stated that the old one must be fine because I can see just fine with them and stated again that I had insulted her by saying she had given me the wrong prescription. I asked her if she disputed the fact that the prescription she had given me was wrong and she angrily said "Fine lets start over then. We'll do the exam from the beginning". At this point I was so upset and frustrated I was not going to be able to calmly allow this person to examine my eyes again and possibly give me another incorrect prescription. She became very angry and raised her voice telling me that I could go somewhere else. I asked for contact info so I could provide this story to Pearle Vision and she stated that her office was a franchise and Pearle Vision would not care. I walked into the lobby and made an appointment with another provider since I had already paid for my exam and need a prescription.
Ms. Muchnick was extremely rude, angry, and condescending. She raised her voice multiple times and provided the absolute worst customer service I had ever experienced.
