“patient”
Dr. Gabel's office is arranged like a medical office from the 1950s...sliding glass door separating patients and staff, crowded waiting room, poor lighting/bad magazines, and long waits.
Most importantly he is almost always over-booked and cuts corners. I have glaucoma which he treated. But he didn't dilate my eyes and search inside for overall health. He did not dilate my eyes at all in the past three years. I was diagnosed with a medium-sized melanoma (eye)(malignant) exactly 5 days after I saw him this April. The tumor is behind the iris but probably would have been noted before if my eyes were dilated and a thorough exam had occured. This tumor according to my oncologist has been growing for a year. I've seen Dr. Gabel twice in that time period.
Dr. Gabel is a skilled Ophthalmologist, the prescription I received allowed an increase range in my visual depth, which far surpassed the prescription that I received by a local chain eyeglass provider. Dr. Gabel also proved his skill as a physician as he removed shards of glass from my eye after a bungee accident. Great Doctor.
