“Horrible mess”
This man did an AGGRESSIVE face/necklift on me several years ago due to jowling, NLB folds etc..general aging in the lower face. He was very nice, endearing and had no hesitation that he could fix my issues and look great. I asked what if I didn't like it? Then he would make it right. I saw him several times to be certain we were on the same page and each time he would place his fingers in frt of my ears and gently push back --that would be my result ( who DOESN'T look good when you do that?)...He also stated numerous times that my eyes would not be affected--(that was very important to me) and that I was a great candidate--I was very young for this (under 40) but that did not give him pause at all. Incisions would be hidden in the hair, all would be great, he'd done hundreds of them. Looking back, I was so naive and trusting, but thought I'd done my homework and felt 100% confident doing this with this man. The morning of the surgery, he did not do any 'markings' on my face, just looked at the sides of my face, apparently making 'mental' marks while i was sitting up..I was still totally confident, thinking this must mean he's REALLY good, he doesn't have to mark my face. After surgery, I had a bad infection around my left ear--my earlobes are on the smaller side and he had trouble reattaching, thus the infection which caused major swelling and large white, 'train track' scarring around the ear, behind the ear and along the hairline. I also ended up w/pixie ears due to too much tension pulling on the sutures. These are hallmark signs of bad work from a sloppy surgeon. These risks were downplayed or not discussed AT ALL beforehand. As my face began to heal and tissues began to reattach, my face became distorted, going from longer face to shorter/wider. I knew things would be tightened up but my face became ALL cheek--way too full, no contour. This did NOT look good, this was NOT what I wanted or most of all, what we had discussed. Once your clearly not pleased, things suddenly are quite different. He said 'Doesn't your husband like it?' (WHAT??) Also, that he 'yanked me pretty hard.' Right then, I knew..lord, what have I done?
He checked my records for 'before' pics --he hadn't taken any!
The 'Dr' who'd been so reassuring was gone. He claimed not to see my issues, instead telling me to give it more time. I'd made a horrible mistake. I'm distorted, and odd looking, my eyes are deep set and the vertical pull and resulting fullness make them look deeper and ugly. You cannot reverse tightened muscles and removed tissues. What formed the small hollows under my cheeks were 'gone.' I thought I was getting an individualized lift based on the numerous pre-surg consults, in the end he pulled me like the 60 or 70 yr old he'd done before. It took awhile to get a copy of my office notes from them. Also, obtained a copy of my surgical notes (2 small paragraphs) -- both woefully thin on any details. This so-called doctor was sloppy in and out of the operating room. I need a complete revision by every ps I've consulted with. Revisions are always hard since the tissues have already been manipulated once, and without thorough surgical notes (how the original tissues were pulled) they are operating a bit in the dark. To add insult to injury, his notes don't say anything useful. I feel like a guinea pig. He wasn't careful or even cautious about what he did to me. It's about making money, period. I went in looking attractive and came out looking terrible. Please learn from my foolishness and stay away from this man.
