I suspected my newborn son had a lip tie, and when I brought him to Dr. Rishita, we discovered he not only had a lip tie, but also a tongue tie and "buckles" (other smaller ties on his lip). Dr. Rishita and her staff kept us well-informed of the process, were extremely kind and caring, and now I can breastfeed without pain. One thing my husband and I really appreciated was that Dr. Rishita explained the process so well and did not push anything on us -- we were able to make an informed choice and decision based on our situation. Great experience, would highly recommend to anyone who suspects their child has lip/tongue tie issues.

We visited Dr. Jaju for my newborn son, Julian, who was suffering from a severe lip and posterior tongue tie, and was unable to nurse (and even bottle feeding took forever). Dr. Jaju was able to quickly diagnose Julian's ties and perform the release procedures. She made sure we knew how to perform the necessary follow up care at home and saw Julian for multiple follow up visits (free) to make sure things were on track. As far as the procedure itself, it was quick, did not seem to cause too much discomfort afterwards, and healed beautifully. And most incredibly, Julian was able to nurse immediately. I went from having a baby who literally could not nurse, and relied on bottles for 95% of his food, to having a baby who no longer used bottles, all after that initial visit. The practice is clean, organized, and the staff are wonderful. We switched my older children to this practice as well and Dr. Jaju's initial examination of my older sons was more thorough and informative than all their previous pediatric dentist visits combined. I cannot speak highly enough about Dr. Jaju and her practice and would recommend her to anyone, especially any mothers struggling with nursing and concerned about a possible tongue tie. Thank you Dr. Jaju!!

Made the mistake of going to an ENT who did a posterior revision but did not advise on any follow-up (ie "stretches"). Latch and nursing did not improve so found Dr. Jaju's credentials through an on-line support group. Our lactation consultant as well as a pediatric dentist friend highly recommended Dr. Rishita as a pediatric dentist certified and specializing in cold laser therapy frenectomies. We met with Dr. Rishita for a consult; she diagnosed the ties and explained the procedure, expected outcomes and constantly asked if my husband and I had any questions. Feeling that we were in great hands and having done our research of local providers and the benefits of a frenctomy we decided to have the procedure done the same day so that I could continue breastfeeding and training our newborn to latch properly as soon as possible. The procedure was quick and afterwards Dr. Rishita went over exercises to do with our newborn to prevent reattachment and improve latching/nursing. We had two follow-ups free of charge to assure proper healing post surgery. Immediately after the procedure, our baby latched painlessly right away! Within a week I was able to stop using the nipple shield and it's been such a blessing and joy to actually nurse without any pain! -- I didn't think this was possible prior to having the procedures completed. We heard about Dr. Jaju at the Virginia Hospital Center Breastfeeding Support Group and when our lactation consultant diagnosed our daughter with a tongue tie she came highly recommended. Dr. Jaju was wonderful, she confirmed the tongue tie diagnosis found a lip tie and performed both releases. She walked us through the procedure and the exercises that were necessary after the procedure to ensure the ties did not reattach. Dr. Jaju was gentle with our daughter and we could not have asked for a better experience. I will note that since our daughters tongue tie was not discovered until she was 8 weeks it did take some time after the procedure for us to really progress with breastfeeding but we are both doing great now and I am so happy we were able to continue breastfeeding and not give up on it!

We had first came to this practice when my son was 5 days old to get his lip and tongue tie revised. I was a little scared at first but Dr. Jaju reassured us and made me feel like it was no big deal. She said that they do this all of the time on infants and it was a normal procedure that is done all of the time. My son had trouble latching on due to his issue so that is why it needed to be fixed, not to mention that he would have a really hard time talking due to the severity of the issue. We went with the procedure and while it was being done, she had me watch a video on the daily exercises that would need to be performed over the next few weeks in order to make the sites heal properly. This procedure was an in/out procedure that took a few minutes at the most. My son did not seem bothered by it at all. After a few weeks and 2 follow up visits his lip and tongue are working great and he has learned to suck the proper way and it does not hurt when he latches on anymore!!!! I tell people that getting him circumcised was way worse that this procedure. So don't be afraid when you are thinking about getting this done, do it for your little one!!

We have three kids, one with a sensory integration issue, one toddler, and a kindergartner. Dr. Rishita was fabulous with all. We first came to her because my son had a complex case that required sedation in a hospital setting and she is one of the only pediatric dentists in the area with privileges at Childrens Hospital. Since then we have seen her for a variety of routine issues and check ups at her gorgeous offices in Reston. We are so lucky to have found Dr Rishita!

Our intellectually disabled son has never cooperated with a dentist before, but Dr. Jaju and her staff knew exactly how to approach him and helped him relax! Dr. Jaju is a lovely, kind, patient and knowledgeable professional, and she has hired an excellent staff that are equally great! The offices are quiet, calm, and pleasant. Dr. Jaju has developed a plan to help keep my son's now adult teeth healthy. Excellent choice for a special needs child.

I knew from the start my son had a lip tie and some issues his sucking. We had issues from birth with latching, pain, gas, weight issues, and extreme fussiness. After consulting a lactation consultant and my pediatrician I was referred to an ENT who took 2 seconds and said my son had nothing wrong with him. Leaving the office I was devestated. My son and I continued to struggle classic symptoms of lip and tongue tie. At almost 3 months I had him evaluated by Dr. Jaju and she immediately diagnosed him with a lip and posterior tongue tie. We had the revision done the same day. We did not have immediate success or see a noticeable different in our sons symptoms until almost 3 weeks after the revision. My son who had struggled to gain weight had gained 1lb in two weeks! It was like a miracle and a huge burden and stress lifted off my shoulders. I will say that doing the exercises consistently and being patient for progress was the most challenging part of the journey but, Dr. Jaju and her staff we the most supportive, informative, and caring group of people Iv ever come into contact with. I would recommend them to all of my friends.

After trying to correct a painful nursing experience on my own, we came to Dr. Jaju to evaluate a lip tie and tongue tie. She was fantastic. She explained how those ties were preventing the progress we were looking for, answered my never-ending questions, replied promptly to follow up questions (sometimes paranoid ones), and provided great overall care. All of my concerns were relieved and she was great with my son. Definitely recommend that all moms struggling with breastfeeding pain and soreness see Dr. Jaju for a consult.
