My family has been coming to Dr. Nguyen for almost 10 years and have always felt comfortable and well cared for. The doctors, assistants and office manager are wonderful. They have helped keep our teeth healthy. One of the things I love here is that they are never pushy about procedures, totally professional. You just feel like you are going over to a friends place and they just happen to be dentist. I would highly recommend Dr. Nguyen's dental office and will continue to come in for years to come.

Overall a great experience. I have always hated going to dental appointments with other offices. Dr. Nguyen is professional, caring, doesn't lecture and sensitive to those of us with dental phobias. She does a thorough job and gives me advantages and disadvantages on alternatives for the dental procedures. My teeth and gums are doing much better under her care. The entire staff are friendly and caring, plus Julie in the front office is great.

“The only Dental office for our family”

I started coming here 5 years ago, after probably a 10 year hiatus. And I have kept coming, and even got my better half to join me (he was even more dentist averse than I was). It starts with Julie who puts you immediately at ease when you walk in the door. She always works with our crazy schedules to fit us in. And she has been instrumental in my better half actually wanting to go to the Dentist. Dr Terri and Dr Laura are the next key ingredient. Both have been very patient with us, and over the years, their light touch has won us over. Whether it's a cleaning, or a filling, or in my case a root canal as well, I have had very little discomfort following a visit. We now live in Oregon, but we come back for our dentist appt here - West Portal Dentistry really is the only dental office for us.

The office is very nice and in a fun shopping eating areas. Office staff from reception to dental assistance are always professional, pleasant and attentive. I drive here from Los Altos and I never mind it.

I used to hate going to the dentist - I always felt dentists were more painful than necessary. And I always kind of believed that they were lying to me about cavities. And then I started coming here. The whole staff takes time to get to know you on a personal level and customize your experience accordingly. They know I hate shots, so they not only take measures to make sure the injection spot/s are extra numb, but they also take steps to further distract me from the pain. They show me every cavity on the x-ray and even worked my appointments around my school schedule when I was in college. And they know that I probably will NOT give up my coffee so they suggested ways for me to enjoy my coffee while still protecting my teeth. Even though it takes us a while to get here (we don't live in SF), it's worth the drive, every time.

Dr. Nguyen and the whole staff was excellent. I was new to the area and used to find somewhere that my insurance was accepted and close to home. I came in for my cleaning and it was so great to see pictures of my teeth and where the problem areas were. And then they showed me exactly what I could do to fix the problems. I also had to come in for a few fillings. Pain free and I felt comfortable the whole time. Julie is also awesome! Gets back super quickly for appointment questions and a great lady to talk to.
