I read an article in which Dr Mazzola was being interviewed about inflammation and it's role in healing. I thought maybe I could benefit from an evaluation by Dr Mazzola. Through a complete physical evaluation and ultrasound, Dr Mazzola found the source of pain and damage. After 19 months of PT, needling, ultrasounds, and prolotherapy, Dr Mazzola was the first Dr to diagnose the injuries and develop a plan for healing. I had PRP injections along with PT to restore movement and eliminate pain. Within 4 to 6 weeks of my PRP, I could sleep on my side and shoulder, I could wipe down a surface without suffering in pain for days after. I am now six months into my healing and doing yoga again with planks, down dog and even push ups. I can carry my two year old granddaughter when her little legs get tired on our hikes. He was able to repair the tear with fat and bone marrow stem cells and I completed the Boston marathon 6 months later. I came to Dr. Mazzola with osteoarthritis in both knees, and severe (level 4) in my right knee. He took the time to develop a treatment plan that fit my goals and financial abilities - a PRP treatment followed by a bone marrow treatment and a second PRP treatment. Prior to these procedures, I had near constant pain at a level of 7/10 and couldn't do what I wanted in terms of exercise and activity. After the procedures, I only notice discomfort in my knees about 5% of the time, at a level of 3 or 4/10. The process has taken time and effort, but with commitment to Dr. Mazzola's recommendations and my physical therapy exercises, I feel that my quality of life has improved substantially. My alternative was knee replacement surgery, and there is no way I'd feel the improvements I do in this short of a time had I gone that route. I came to Dr. Mazzola with an entrapped nerve in my neck and upper trapezius area. This problem was an old one, and I had been unable to fix it with traditional physical therapy and neurological/orthopedic visits. Immediately after the first treatment, I was able to do nerve glides and stretches that previously had caused severe pain (that were impossible to do).
