“A True Professional, Great with Adults, Most Strongly Recommended!”
A previous extraction created a gap that could be treated with either an implant or braces. At age 63 (when I started), I was a bit reluctant to start orthodontics, especially since I was not that unhappy with my smile or the appearance of my teeth. However, there were numerous advantages to orthodontics as explained to me by my wonderful general dentist (Dr. Stacia Krantz) and Dr. Schwartz. Dr. Schwartz has a calm, low key professional approach and explained the plan of care in great detail. He also has a very dry sense of humor which I appreciated. My initial treatment plan was projected for two years, but stretched to three due to a variety of factors, especially my bone density. He did not rush the therapy, but did bring in some extra help in the way of Propel therapy and a closing coil. Having braces as an adult can be challenging, but he and his staff made it worthwhile. The office staff was delightful and the chair-side technicians excellent. I just received my final set of Vivera retainers. For some reason, my dental anatomy made getting impressions problematic, and it took a couple of sessions to get them accomplished. In the end, Dr. Schwartz had to create a plaster form and then fine tune it. He has meticulous attention to detail and the final result is outstanding. I am grateful for his skill. He won't try to up-sell you on therapy you don't need, but is very professional and straight-forward. He has been recognized by his peers as a top orthodontist in the DC area, and the recognition is well-deserved.
