Although Dr. Oliver spent summers and holidays in his family home in Pawleys Island, SC, he grew up in many areas of our country as the son of an Air Force fighter pilot. The experience allowed him the opportunity to work with and respect many different people and cultures. He returned to South Carolina to attend The Citadel and the Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC), College of Pharmacy, obtaining his BS in Pharmacy in 1981. He worked as a pharmacist and store manager for 3 years until he returned to the MUSC, College of Medicine, obtaining his medical degree in 1988. His General Surgery internship was performed at MUSC and a second year of General Surgery residency was performed at the Medical College of Virginia (MCV) in Richmon
