“Poor "bedside manner"”
After finally being in a financial position in life to seek help for several dermatological issues, I arrived at Dermatology Associates of Knoxville. Upon my first visit, the NP assigned me, Sandra Gass did not leave me feeling warm and fuzzy about my visit. She did not seem to enjoy being in the same room with me. She did not ask questions concerning my history or what brought me to the dermatologist. She seemed worried of the cost of a procedure that was not going to be covered by insurance ($150) but offered prescriptions that totaled over $300, with insurance. After I told her to do the $150 procedure, she sent the nursing assistant back to me to "discuss" the $150 cost, again. While I could most certainly pay for this procedure on the spot, I perceived that the staff was afraid I could not.
In addition, I do feel that Dr Gass' stylistic appearance would be much more suited for someone a bit younger, but--while I find that unprofessional--I excused it as a side effect of her field of choice. I will not recommend nor pay a return visit to Dr Gass or to Dermatology Associates of Knoxville.
