ECU Health Chowan Hospital is a modern, critical access hospital located in Edenton, one of North Carolina’s most historic and charming towns. We provide outstanding services and quality care to over 100,000 people in Chowan and surrounding counties. We’re proud to be a hospital where a close, small town feeling combines with specialty services you might only expect from a big city facility.
ECU Health Chowan is home to some of the finest primary care physicians, pediatricians, internists and surgeons in the region. We have a telemedicine link with the Brody School of Medicine at East Carolina University that allows us to treat a wide range of health care issues. Some of our specialty services include an intensive care unit, a surgical center, an emergency department, an expanded labor and delivery suite and bone density screening.
It’s important to start prenatal care early – ideally before you even get pregnant – because your health directly affects the health of your baby. Your body will go through many changes during pregnancy. Routine medical visits and testing will help guide you through the process.
Like all ECU Health hospitals and facilities, we’re patient- and family-centered — which means we recognize what an important role loved ones play in the healing process. Please help us keep visits safe and comfortable for everyone by following these guidelines:
