“Knows what he's doing”

First let me say that Dr. Varlotta is super sweet - which goes a long way in my book. But what's more important is that before I met him I had been living with terrible neck pain for what seems like an eternity. I assumed it was a permanent condition. I've now been pain free for several months and feel better than ever! I also love that his new office is in midtown. Thanks Dr. V - there are no words!

“Best Doc to see if you want results!”

I've gone to Dr. Varlotta for several years due to the results I get from his care. He has treated many of my issues caused by recreational sports as well as problems from every day living. He carefully explains the issue, discusses why it may have happened and what his course of action is going to be - all intended to give you a complete understanding of the diagnosis and treatment. “Could not live without him!”

I have seen Dr. Varlotta for over twenty years. With a bad back, I have climbed mountains, traveled extensively and worked full time until recently. I am now 70. Dr. Varlotta always answers me promptly, more recently via email. He even answered my questions when he was on vacation. My spine will not get better, in fact, it is getting worse. Dr. Varlotta provides the reassurance and practical treatment that enables me to live a full life.

“I have known Doctor Varlotta since 1997”

I am very happy to have him as my doctor. He was the only one that found out what my problem was.. I have been in back pain for a long time. He has been very thorough and he suggested that I take these injections of the spine and of my knees. I feel he is very kind and knowledgeable. I have spinal problems that leave me unable to walk and unable sit for short periods of time. He has always given good direction in taking care of myself. Which have helped me tremendously.

“Dr. Varlotta has kept me well and out of surgery!”

I have several herniated disks and spondylolisthesis. At one point, I had ruptured a disk and had a dropped foot. Through Dr. Varlotta's guidance and enthusiastic approach, I have regained all of my sensation in my leg and I have been able to continue with my exercise and lifestyle. He has helped me several times when I was in an "emergency" situation and has always been available. He spends a lot of time with each patient, explaining things in terms that are easy to understand. His suggestions have been great. I call him my "Savior" and have recommended him to many who have also come out of his office blessing me and him!

“Dr. Varlotta has been my saving grace against surgery”

I have been seeing Dr. Varlotta for the past 9 or 10 years. I had back surgery more than 20 years ago and when my back started to cause me pain, I went to see Dr. Varlotta. Having 2 small children, surgery was not an option for me anymore. Still being relatively young, I did not want my lifestyle to change. I enjoy exercising and playing with my kids, but my back was too painful. Dr. Varlotta offered a non-surgical option that allowed my to maintain my life as I enjoyed it.

“Dr. Varlotta is THE knee man”

I've seen Dr. Varlotta for close to 10 years for a slipping patella and other complications.
He looks at the body as a whole rather than a separate knee issue. He treats for the long run and always explains what he is doing and how you will feel. He takes his time, I never feel rushed through with him, and I'm in less pain then I was for decades before seeing him.

Dr Varlotta is competent, pleasant, and has gone out of his way to be helpful to me. I took off one star because I invaruably have to wait a while before seeing him, even when I show up early for my appointment time. This time, I waited over 30 minutes just to be taken back to the exam room, where I waited even longer. That being said, his staff is always pleasant and competent.

“Dr Varlotta saved my life............”

I was suffering from a broken facet cyst of my L4-5. It was Christmas, and all my doctors were on vacation. I was in horrible agony. I had spoken with the doctors office before, but they originally were booked and could not see me for weeks. When my pain got so bad I called everyone and anyone I could think of. I spoke with David Dr Varlotta's assistant and he could hear in my voice the terrible pain. He got me into the office that day, and I have been a faithful patient ever since.

I saw Dr Varlotta for back issues during July 2023.
He examined me, provided a comfortable environment for me to explain what’s going on , and sent me for diagnostic tests.
The zoom follow up was a clear ,explanation of my mri and
follow -up needed. He also provided an opportunity (fit me in his tight schedule )to have an epidural before my trip to relieve symptoms.
The epidural was successful .

When Dr Varlotta offered an alternative to lumbar fusion surgery I was elated. After constant pain and sleepless nights, the pain was drastically reduced after a short daily dosing of steroids and was completely gone after a cortisone injection. Life changing!

As an avid boxer and weight-lifter I've had my share of joint injuries. Whenever an injury is severe enough to warrant seeking care, I am always frustrated by how hard it is to find a physician who truly understands the needs of an athlete and the fact that my objective is always to return to optimal performance not just to be pain free.

As someone who works with many pro athletes, Dr. Varlotta is one of the first physicians I've worked with who really understands this. He is professional, pleasant, and thorough and very well connected with other top doctors in NYC.

“I have been seeing Dr Varlotta for over 17 years ”

17 years ago I was in accident injuring neck, mid-back and lower back it took months to get me back to work.
During those years he not only helped me as my physician, but help get through the emotional and mental problems that come with back pain. He is the type of doctor that kept exercise and moving although its hard to do. He always find new treatment to kept me going.

“Wonderful!”

After years of leg/lower back pain and two spinal surgeries, I was referred to Dr. Varlotta. Within three months I was medication free and on my way to being physically stronger, resulting in less pain. Today, after many years I continue to see Dr. Varlotta on a regular basis. While I will never be pain free, he has treated my pain to the point where I can live a normal life, without the use of constant medications. He is a wonderful and caring physician who really is invested in my well being!
