“Terrible”
Unfortunately this was an awful experience although I had heard good things about Orthopedic Associates. I went for bilateral shoulder pain but also was experiencing leg pain. Dr. Pillai asked the minimal amount of questions for a history and disregarded any information I had written on the admission form that was not Just Shoulder related. She performed a basic 5 range of motion tests but never even palpated or touched my shoulders in any way. A set of 3 Xrays per shoulder were done and they are not computerized so the old fashioned film kind. The ex ray tech was attentive and seemed to do a great job, however the quality of the Xrays was extremely poor, this being either old chemicals or old film used (my own medical office had Xray onsite so I recognize a poor Xray when I see one). When I asked if there could be any connection between my leg and shoulder pain Dr. Pillai in no uncertain terms told me she just does shoulders! I was dumbfounded. This office obviously separates their patients into knees, shoulders, back etc., and does not let any doctor discuss anything but your single complaint! Doctors who don't take a Patients entire history into account? Shameful. I was given the rote treatment - a prescription of anti-inflammatory meds and a scrip for PT. Would I go back there? Never. Would I recommend Dr. Pillai - never. And if she is any indication of how the practice is run you will not want to go there either. I never felt such disinterest during an initial exam in my life.
Completely robotic.
