“Poor Service”
I was in search for a PCP a few months back. I was referred to Primary Care of Aiken, LLC, by a few coworkers of mine. The very first time that I had to utilize their services in the case of an emergency was 10/28/2015. I called in and requested an appointment because I had what I felt was a stomach virus. I was told that I could not come into the office, however they would call me in a prescription. The receptionist did not tell me when I could be seen. I was just told that I could not come into the office. The prescription called in did not work so I contacted the office the following day 10/29/2015. I did not get an answer after calling a few times so I decided to stop by. When I arrived I spoke with a very nice receptionist at the front counter and explained why I was there. She apologized and told me that they would not be able to see me until Monday 11/2/2015. I explained to her that the medication that was prescribed the day prior did not work so they called me in a second medication. The following day 10/30/2015 I received a call asking me to come in for a visit that morning and I agreed. Due to being out of work for close to a week I had to apply for short term disability. When I arrived at the doctor’s office to see Dr. Holley Surrency, Dr. Kulik NP I was told by her that she charges $20 per sheet for completing the documents and sending them back over to my insurance company. The total came to $40. As I was leaving the office I stopped at the front counter to make payment and all of the receptionist were out at lunch. Dr. Holley Surrency told me that I could leave and just make payment once I pick up the forms. I contacted the office on Monday 11/2/2015 to see if my paperwork had been faxed over to the insurance company and I was told that they had not been faxed. I was told by the receptionist that according to Dr. Holley Surrency before she could complete my documents I will need to pay $40. If this was the case why did take some form of payment from me on 10/30/2015. I have been out of work without pay. I have never visited a doctor where there is a fee to complete forms. I am already being billed for the visit, but I am also being billed an additional amount for them to complete forms. I did not see any signs around indicating this. At this point I am not even sure if what I am being told is the truth. I will never visit this office again. There is not a sense of urgency, there is a strong lack of compassion, and a lack in ethical behavior. Once this is resolved I will be moving my records to another PCP.
