“Very highly skilled, compassionate physician and a clear communicator.”

I have known Dr. Cruz for over seven years and found him to be accurately observant and skilled in diagnosing and treating a large variety of medical problems in his patients. His knowledge base is quite broad and he uses it very effectively. He understands and applies appropriate, effective therapies, some of which are quite new and/or under-utilized by most practices in this area. They may simply be unknown by some doctors in this area. Thankfully, he has never stopped learning after completing medical school. He is a true gem in the Jeffersonville area medical community.

“I loved my weight loss experience with Dr. Cruz!”

I came to Dr. Cruz for weight loss. It has been a struggle for me most of my life, Dr. Cruz's understanding of that made me feel comfortable with the program. The handbook given along with the HCG program helped me tremendously with my weight loss journey. I lost 24 pounds and have maintained the success with my new lifestyle change. Dr. Cruz took his time to listen to my concerns and educate me as well.

An excellent experience at Kentuckiana Integrative Medicine with Dr. Rafael Cruz! My name is Melanie Drury. I serve the community as a Nurse Practitioner in KY and IN. I personally had been dealing with degenerative joint disease and bone spurs of the cervical spine resulting in neck pain on a daily basis over the past 9 years. I also experienced low back pain daily over the past several years. I tried numerous treatments including chiropractic, cervical and lumbar traction, laser therapy, physical therapy several times, Nsaids, prescription anti-inflammatory medications, muscle relaxers, topical medications, acupuncture, cupping, dry needling, weekly massage, Pilates, orthopedic treatment, podiatry treatment, inversion table use...all with short term or little relief. Dr Cruz treated me with prolotherapy, prolozone, and regenerative tissue injections. It was the first time in 9 years I was pain free and 1yr post treatment still pain free! I encourage scheduling a consultation!

“My Last Ditch Hope”

I had my right knee replaced in January 2017 and in the process found a lump in my groin that was soon diagnosed as stage 4 metastatic melanoma. I went from being a very active 60 year old female, yoga, hiking, travel,to being unable to exercise due to extreme fatigue and side effects of immunotherapy cancer treatment. Immunotherapy has kept me alive, but my standard of life is greatly diminished. When my left knee started bothering me and I tried conventional PT and steroid injections, my knee got much worse. I had to get a knee brace to walk at all. In December 2019, I heard about prolozone! Then my biological dentist recommended me to Dr. Cruz. Six weeks after my first injections of prolotherapy and prolozone, I am doing some yoga core strengthening exercises involving my knees which I could NOT do for 2 years. This after ONLY 1 treatment! Injection 2 (today) January 2020 with high hopes of being able to use my treadmill and get some much needed aerobic exercise. Thank you Dr. Cruz.

“My energy is back and my pain is gone!”

My experience with Dr. Cruz has been excellent. When I first came to see Dr. Cruz I was moving slowly, joints hurting, having diabetic neuropathy in my feet, and felt generally weak with significant joint pain. Dr. Cruz recommended IV Therapy. After the sixth IV treatment it was amazing! I am getting in and out of my truck with ease; my joint pain is almost completely gone; the neuropathy pain and cramps in my feet are gone and my memory is better along with everything else. I feel so much better and I will continue IV Therapy.

“A True Live-Changing Experience”

I have suffered from headaches and occipital nerve pain due to osteoarthritis for many years and have tried many treatment options (muscle relaxers, dry needling, chiropractic, therapeutic massage, physical therapy). Nothing has improved my headaches and neck pain more than prolotherapy/prolozone therapy administered by Dr. Cruz. He takes time to listen to your issues and makes recommendations, but ultimately you are the one to decide which treatment you wish to pursue. I wish I had found him sooner! Highly recommend a consultation.

i have found Dr Cruz to be very knowledgable and informative . He is easy to talk to and i have always seen him as both a caring and genuine doctor. There are a few positive effects that i had both read about and heard about from other patients who have receive the chelation and Plaquex therapies. My personal experience has show improvements in both my energy levels and in my cognative function especially my memory. I noticed a big improvement in my memory and recall within the first 3 or 4 treatments. I have recomended Dr. Cruz to patients of mine and i will continue to do so. My personal reason for seeking help are due to cardiovascular problems and I am very pleased with the improvements that have been made. “Reclamation of my life”

After much consideration of options, I decided to call Kentuckiana Integrative and see about treatment options for my knees and other issues that were diminishing my quality of life. Dr. Cruz himself called me, talked with me for a bit to determine what we needed to focus on first. My knees were what we decided to work on first. He was conscientious on what we could attempt with best results and that was also covered by insurance, as that was a concern to me. At 3 hyaluronic (gel) shots in, my husband and I took a trip to Utah to visit family. While there I was able to engage in hiking and biking and even home workouts and yoga with my family. I was amazed at how I was able to participate, even riding a mountain bike on a bmx course! I felt my smile from within my spirit that day! “On Mothers Day I was pushing my elderly moth er in her wheelchair when both of my knees went out. I felt I was next in line for the wheelchair. I signed up for Dr. Cruz's 3-injection therapy. After only two injections my knees feel 85% better!”

On Mothers Day I was pushing my elderly mother in her wheelchair when both of my knees went out. I was disheartened, worried for my mother because I am her caretaker, and worried for myself because I felt I was next in line for the wheelchair! Imaging showed multiple complex tears in my medial meniscus, multiple collateral ligament sprains, with Grade 3-4 OsreoArthritis. So many folks rush to surgery rather than jumpstarting their own natural healing response. I decided to try Dr. Cruz's 3-injection allograft matrix, prolozone and prolo therapy regenerative treatment. Injections can be a little painful at times, but far less painful than surgery and without the chances of multiple, serious complciations from surgery. After only two injections my knees feel 85% better! I am back for my third injection today and looking forward to even more improvement. One of the best outcomes for me already: I no longer think and worry about how I would function with bad knees!

“Can I give Kentuckiana Integrative Medicine 10 out of 5 stars?”

We are lucky to have this leading-edge clinic here in Jeffersonville - just steps from downtown Louisville! Dr. Cruz is an empathetic, patient, skilled and very knowledgeable MD who brings to our area the best that conventional and natural medicine have to offer. Everyone in the office is friendly and eager to share their secrets to keep me healthy. Over the last five years, I have done a variety of treatments with Dr. Cruz for a variety of medical issues including multiple sports and overuse injuries, anxiety, allergies, weight-loss, wellness & nutritional IV's and hormone replacement therapy - all with amazing results. I was better after only 1 joint injection treatment and continued to see more progress with each session; I get an IV if my energy is low or I feel a cold/flu coming on; I am preparing to do a treatment called Plaquex which not only removes plaque but also regenerates youthful tissue. My husband was diagnosed with a terminal cancer in 2012 and at that time he was given 18 months to live. I do give credit to Traditional medicine but I know in my heart he is still here today because we were open to alternative treatments.

Dr Cruz is a true gift to the medical profession and the most caring and capable MD that I have met in my 35 years as a medical professional. His treatment of my medical condition was spot on and was life saving in that it resolved my autoimmune symptoms and precancerous condition with cancer enzymes returning to normal in about 6 months with corresponding complete pain resolution in that time versus 2 other medical opinions advising a wait and see approach for 1 year. I highly recommend Dr Cruz and high professional and friendly staff!

“Far exceeded my expectations!”

I’ve had tremendous hip pain for last 6 months and heard that the injections might work. It was so bad I increased my medical coverage for next year in anticipation of possible surgery. Wow! What a difference one week makes. The pain is gone and the joint( still tender), is healing well. If anyone has any doubts, you’re welcome to call me. “Dr. Cruz saved my life.”

Dr. Cruz saved my life insisting that I get a heart cath when other doctor discovered a 95% blockage of my carotid artery. I was scheduled for carotid surgery and neither my doctor or my insurance wanted to let me have a cardiac cath because six months before I had a normal heart stress test. When I finally was able to get my cardiac cath, we discovered I had 7 blockages and I needed 7 cardiac stents. The surgeon told me I could've easily died during the surgery to fix the carotid artery if I had not fixed my heart first!!! Thanks to Dr. Cruz that is exactly what happened.

Dr. Cruz has often suggested IV Plaquex and IV chelation which helps open up blood vessels...

Thank God I listened when he insisted on heart cath.

“Hopeful for remission”

I was diagnosed with CRPS in November 2019. A pain specialist recommended that I have DRG spinal cord stimultor. I wasn't comfortable with such an invasive procedure. I researched treatment for CRPS and learned that Neridronate is the recommendation. This treatment is not FDA approved in the USA but is FDA approved in Italy. I researched treatment in the USA and found Kentuckiana Integrative Medicine which uses Pamidronate as an off-label treatment. I just completed by last infusion and am feeling more range of motion in my big toe and more mobility in my right foot. My pain level has also dropped from 7-8/10 to 3-4/10.

“Highly effective treatment for severe lower back disc degeneration”

Doctor Cruz has changed the quality of my life. Stem cell and Prolozone injections into my lower spine for two degenerated discs has thus far proven very effective. The nature of my pain has gone from a searingly hot and stabbing sensation all of the time to a much more manageable dull ache. I am able to work out and do core strengthening exercises without being in agony during and after the exercise. It has truly been life changing.

“Friendly caring professional taking me on a path to wellness”

I met with Dr. Cruz who took his time to know my situation and health problems. He came up with a comprehensive plan and reccomended I start it right away. I did and I am so glad I did. He did tell me up front it normally takes a few treatments to see results like most things. I saw something after just the first treatment. Would I reccomend this to others? Yes. Would I do this again, Yes. Oh and the office staff are amazing, really are nice kind and work with you.

Dr, Cruz and his staff are caring, helpful, kind and compassionate! Dr. Cruz understands pain and the effect it has on your quality of life. Before I had the Genvisc shots in my knees I could not go for long walks, exercise or play golf without significant pain. We were even considering selling our home because of the painful stairs. Dr. Cruz has a Physical Therapist that is top notch. With the shots and therapy I am walking,
exercising, playing golf, working in my yard and climbing stairs without pain! I am so very thankful for Dr. Cruz!!

“Seeing Dr. Cruz has completely turned my life around. I went from not even thinking about quitting drugs to not being able to wait to get completely off.”

I would absolutely recommend Dr. Cruz for anyone having addiction issues. Dr. Cruz is always respectful, he always listens, he takes my concerns seriously and is always helpful with anything I ask or have concerns about. He is always willing to work with me no matter what is going on. He made me realize that I not only wanted to get past my addiction but that I could do it. He respects our time and has set up a system also provides group therapy during the same visit as my appointment with him. Being able to talk with others in the same boat is extremely valuable, and having all of this in one office makes things easier and more doable.

“After my first treatment I slept pain-free for the first time in two years.”

My MRI report showed severe joint degeneration; my hip used to keep me up at night and hurt if I walked more than 200 feet. Now I can walk 10,000 steps with just some fatigue, and I walk withpout a limp! Driving long distances is also more comfortable now than before the treatment. I would absolutely - and have already - recommended Dr. Cruz to anyone suffering from musculo-skeletal pain, osteoarthritis or any other ailment.

Getting diagnosis and treatments that healed my a-fib and
palpitations when other doctors were wanting me to go under the knife is a blessing. To know that Dr. Cruz knew of successful alternatives gave me a journey of hope.
I was not able to walk more than a few hundred yards without my heart racing. After a round of chelation treatments, I can walk a mile and exercise with no problem. I could not exert myself around the house,now I can assume all of my home duties - yay.
