“Knee arthroscopy”

Prior to surgery my pain level was greater than 10/10. Saw another Orthopedic who told me it would get better over time. I brought my results to Dr. Darr who informed me off all my options. Once we decided on surgery, he explained in depth the procedure and how it would benefit me. Since the surgery I am experiencing no pain and getting back to my normal day to day tasks.

“Robotic Total Knee Replacement”

I left knee replacement by another doctor which was torture. I was so nervous to see anyone about my right knee. I kept putting it off and putting it off. And then I finally decided to go through with it. I saw Dr. Darr and he immediately recommended surgery due to the extent of arthritis in my knee. I was originally scheduled during the pandemic, and was cancelled due to the hospitals shutting down. Once I got into surgery, I never felt better. I'm up moving. Barely take any medications, and getting back to my normal self. Dr. Darr and his staff really changed my life.

“Robotic Total Knee Replacement”

2 months before I saw Dr. Darr i was miserable with pain. I wasn't able to sleep at night. I saw Dr. Darr he did x-rays and told me it was bone on bone and we needed to do surgery ASAP. Surgery went great. The facility was very nice. Now I'm 2 weeks out and can walk with little to no pain. I feel 120% better already

“wonderful, great staff, helpful educational recommendations, would recommend himld”

Dr. Darr offered physical and medicinal therapy which helped for about 3 years because I was afraid of surgery. Then I had excruciating pain in my right shoulder that affected my sleep and I asked Dr Darr to do the surgery. That was a Godsend. Avala and Dr Darr handled the surgery with ease including the nerve block and anchors, which I recommend everything to anyone who needs rotator cuff and bone spur removal. After being immobilized for 5 weeks I began therapy. After 3 weeks I could drive, cook fold clothes and dress myself with little to no pain. My therapist Kinetix was impressed with my improvement and range of motion in this timeframe. I am very grateful to Dr Darr and his staff in my shoulder treatment.

“Achilles Rupture”

I had an achilles rupture that was very painful. Dr. Darr knew I needed surgery right away. I had a wonderful experience at AVALA hospital as well. “Dr, Darr did cell therapy on both knees and it came out great.”

I had the combined cell therapy for both my left and right knees. I had lots of pain in my knees prior to my procedure. I was having trouble bending down on my knees and trying to stand back up. After the stem cell procedure I am able to do many activities that I used to have pain with and can now do them pain free. The procedure was great and I recommend it to anyone that is having problems with their knees and is looking for another option besides surgery. I would also recommend Dr. Darr to do any procedure or surgery, he is a great doctor.

“Pain free Running”

I had a bicycle accident in 2013 and the closest hospital they brought me to was a heart hospital. Dr. Darr drive there that evening to do surgery on my leg, which had a broken tibia and fibula. We were very impressed with him and put at ease when he offered to pray with us before going back for surgery. His bedside manner was awesome. I knew recovery was going to be rough but I was willing to do anything and everything. He couldn’t give me a direct answer as to whether I’d be able to run again it we were hopeful. This past month, I was able to complete my first half Ironman (1.2 mile swim, 56 mile bike, and 13.1 mile run) and experienced zero pain with my leg with the metal rod and screws. I wouldn’t be where I’m at today if he hadn’t come to do the surgery and I’m so grateful for him. Looking forward to training and completing more races. Thank you Dr. Darr!

“Fantastic Doctor that knows what it takes to get you back in action”

Dr. Darr was originally recommended to me by a friend when I confided in them that I was not improving under the care of an Orthopedic Surgeon in Austin and at the time I was NOT walking. I visited Dr. Darr and he came up with a plan to get me back walking quickly so that I could make an impending rugged trip. It all came together just as planned. This year I went on a difficult mountain lion hunt in Arizona, climbed the high point of Idaho and then climbed the highest mountain in the lower 48 states - Mt. Whitney. I am sure glad that I found Dr. Darr. He is a wonderful professional and I am grateful to him.

Both my husband and I are so very satisfied with the care and professionalism and knowledge that the whole staff has. I was so surprised and absolutely grateful that Dr. Darr suggested having a prayer before we went in! That is unheard of and it calmed our hearts and made us love him from that moment on. George had hip replacement knee replacement and shoulder replacement, I had two spinal operations and an arm operation from a terribly broken left shoulder. He is an excellent doctor patient and loving and kind. I would recommend him to anyone for anything. And the staff is so great, kind and loving.

Leading up to surgery, I tore my rotator cuff and labrum. I was dealing with pain for 9 years. I heard great things about Dr. Darr so decided to set up and initial consultation. Within 2 visits, Dr. Darr had my injuries diagnosed, and surgery was scheduled immediately. Overall surgery went great, and now I am 4 months post op and much further along in recovery than I could've ever expected.

“Robotic Total Hip Replacement”

Before my hip replacement, I couldn't put any weight on my right leg to walk or even sit. I was compensating with my left side to just be able to walk. The pain started traveling to my knees. I couldn't do anything without pain. I came to Dr. Darr who diagnosed me with severe arthritis, and scheduled for Robotic surgery. I felt well informed of everything that was going on. The entire staff made sure myself and my wife were taken care of. Now 1 year out I feel 30 years younger. I can play with my great grand children and I don't feel any pain in my right hip. We are so thankful.

“Robotic total knee replacement”

I was having a very rough time walking and working in the yard. I had severe pain in my right knee. I came to Dr. Darr who told me I needed a total knee replacement. The surgery went fantastic! I was up and walking the next day after my robotic total knee replacement. I am now 2 weeks out and have had no pain. Have not had to take any medications, and am well on my way to getting back to normal. I would recommend Dr. Darr to anybody!

“Microfracture Surgery, Stem Cell Therapy”

I dont know where to begin. Dr. Darr and his team has been incredible. While kind, knowledgeable, and patient, Dr. Darr has helped my knee from suffering the common damages and issues from a patellar-dislocation. His trusting persona made me feel conformable enough to go forward with microfracture surgery and the recovery to come after. With this, the Stem Cell Therapy didn't feel pushed on me like some-sort of a money grabbing procedure, but rather as an opportunity to make it an insurance covered procedure for those who come after me (as well as you know, really fix me knee). Combined Stem Cell Therapy shortened the physical therapy time in half, and I was back to dancing and jumping in 3 months after surgery!!

Surgery on right shoulder to repair multiple tears and bone spurs. Extreme pain in all normal activities involving the use of shoulder. Dr. Darr and Nurse Practitioner Brown were very helpful in getting me to understand what was wroing and what would be done to fix the problem. Surgery at Avala was quick and went very well. 6 months out and shoulder is fine, not pain in normal activities, and strength is returning. Overall this was a great experience with a very capable Dr and staff.

“Bilateral knee combined cell therapy treatment”

I have had a great experience with Dr. Darr. I had the combined cell therapy treatment with Dr. Darr for both of my knees. Before I was not able to do many things I was able to do in the past. I had to take care of my wife and the cell therapy helped me a lot. I felt like I was 10 years younger and could do so much more. I am 2 years since my treatment and I feel 100% improvement in my left knee and 9% improvement in my right knee.

I had 30 years of shooting pain in my right knee. Dr. Darr recommended a right total knee replacement. Before the surgery I was not able to walk without pain and could barely bend my knee. Since the surgery I can walk better and bend my knee better than I have been able to in 30 years. I am very impressed that Dr. Darr prayed with me prior to my surgery. I originally came in to discuss combined stem cell regenerative therapy options for a torn meniscus in my right knee. I was looking for options besides a meniscectomy. My experience with Dr. Darr has been terrific. From the beginning he has been a patient and attentive doctor. This was something that was very important to me as a patient. He was realistic when going over the procedure and projected results. After preliminary examination and discussion, I went ahead and did both knees because it was cost efficient. His staff has been extremely kind and courteous. A year later, and I have no pain in my right knee, and am back to my previous exercise capabilities.

I had a right hip replacement. Everything was great. I was having a lot of pain in my hip and felt like I was torturing myself. It was a miracle from God that we found Dr. Darr. He allowed us to be successful and continue on our journey, allowing my wife to walk again. We will be recommending Dr. Darr to our friends and family. His team is full of special people with special abilities. Sydney is one of a kind as well. This experience was truly blessing.
