It's 2019, and do you know where your psychiatrist is? I'm kidding, but it does seem like everyone has a psychiatrist now. However, it seems like few people are actually truly happy. Most people who see a psychiatrist seem to say that there only slightly less sad and anxious as a result of their treatment. I'm just chiming in because I thought it would be beneficial to let some people know how I think I just got lucky when I chose my psychiatrist, Dr. Michael Marcus. There's certainly no guarantee that everyone will benefit from his treatment as much as I have, but I do know two indisputable facts: he truly is a brilliant man, and I've had a happy life for 15 years as a direct result of being under his care.

I started seeing Dr. Marcus when I was first having issues with depression an OCD, and I needed a psychiatrist immediately, but all the doctors in the Boston area had 6 month waiting lists. Dr. Marcus saw me fast, and got me on a medication fast (and luckily it was a perfect fit medication and I didn't have to try out lots of different pills). I can schedule appointments within the week, so that's very convenient. I guess this is a plus in a way, but I always seem to spend less than 10 minutes in his office. Not my usual experience with doctors, but at least I don't have to wait a very long time.
