At the Marion L. Shepard Cancer Center, we do more than fight cancer. We focus on improving the everyday lives of you and your loved ones as you go through your cancer journey. How? By delivering hope and compassion along with the quality care you’d expect from a comprehensive cancer center. Our outpatient services include:

• Chemotherapy
  The nurses attending to your needs have years of experience and expertise with chemotherapy administration, and a majority of our nurses also have specialty certification in oncology. Our chemo bay is a calming environment that overlooks the Barbara Gray Howdy Meditation Garden. The bay features 13 chairs, with individual TVs and headphones for each patient’s comfort.


• Radiation Therapy
  Our recently upgraded linear accelerator precisely targets cancer with high-energy x-rays, which allows us to offer new treatment modalities and procedure options close to your home. We also provide prostate radiation seed implantation and have one of the most robust programs in the state. Our board-certified radiation oncologist is in the center daily.


• Transfusion
  Blood transfusions are often given to correct anemia while platelet transfusions are given to help the blood clot and to prevent bleeding. Leukemia patients or patients who’ve had bone marrow transplants or high doses of chemotherapy may need platelet transfusions to improve platelet count. With extensive experience in treating blood disorders and performing transfusions, we’re here to make your experience as comfortable as possible.
