Mays & Schnapp Neurospine and Pain is the longest established pain management practice in the greater Memphis area. Our Memphis office houses a physician practice, in-house surgery center, and physical therapy department conveniently accessible in one location. Patients are treated by physicians with decades of experience, including board certifications in pain management. Mays & Schnapp’s Adult Outpatient Interdisciplinary Pain Rehabilitation Program is the only CARF accredited program in the Mid-South.

Our pain experts treat many conditions including back and neck pain, arm and leg pain, arthritis, sciatica, fibromyalgia, peripheral neuropathy pain from diabetes, CRPS and post-stroke pain.

I'm so grateful to have found Dr Schnapp. I finally have a doctor who will listen to me, repeat what I say to ensure he heard properly, educate me about what is going on in my neck, and provides a multitude of options for ways to deal with the pain. I don't feel rushed and I'm comfortable asking questions. My last pain doctor said there was nothing more he could do for me when three blocks in combination with physical therapy didn't work. On the other hand, when something didn't work with Dr Schnapp - he offered another solution to try (with back up options if it didn't work either). Great doctor!

“My experience with Dr. Wargo and Mays & Schnapp was exceptionally good!”

Dr. Wargo was very kind from the start. He was also on time, which is rare with most physicians today. When I provided him an overview of my situation, including my pain and the history of the pain escalation, he actually listened and then offered his own medical opinions, supported by knowledge and experience. He was empathetic and sensitive and began a plan to help me get to the source of my pain. In other words, he didn't just offer medication to mask the symptoms -- but a plan to hopefully alleviate and possibly eradicate my problem altogether. This gave me hope I hadn't had in a very long time.

“dr kangas is very good”

had to cancel my last appointment because the only person in the office had an emergency with his wife the morning of my appointment and had to take her to emergency room. i got billed for the cancelation and i paid the bill that i did not feel was fair but as for dr kangas he is great

“Quick, thorough, knowledgeable of my circumstance.”

Proper scheduling made the overall visit flow smoothly. Very little time waiting in lobby or in room waiting for doctor. Dr Kangas knowledge of my medical Hx and previous testing made it clear he thoroughly reviewed my file prior to my assessment. Overall, extremely high rating of my experience.

“He is an expert at performing pain blocks!”

Dr. Scarborough is such a compassionate doctor with an outstanding ability to administer pain blocks and ablations. He was so kind to see me for a block the same day that I was seen in the office with a flare-up. I got so much relief that I’ve been up and
Enjoying things I could not do before. I am so appreciative to have recieved such outstanding care since the ortho-surgeons have
considered me not a candidate for surgery.

I have only seen Dr. Scarbrough once, but he has put all of my concerns at ease. He knew exactly how he want to treat my lower back pain. His explanation of what was going on was impeccable and showed me how he was going to proceed. I am so confident with his diagnosis, I cant wait to see the results. In agreement with the other comments concerning his bed side manner, It is immeasurable.

Dr. Scarbrough was very responsive, listened to my explanation of symptoms, very empathetic. My only complaint is that he requested my records from other providers. I signed a release upon leaving…yet, it took 6 weeks for the office to call me back for a follow up. Not good.
