Dr. Michael E. Ivan is currently an Associate Professor at the University of Miami where he focuses on complex brain tumor and skull base surgery. He acts the Site Disease Leader for Neuro-Oncology at the Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center and is the Chief of Cranial Neurosurgery and Neuro-Oncology Service at Jackson South Medical Center. He has performed more than 2500 complex brain tumor surgeries including endoscopic surgery, minimally invasive surgery, laser surgery, radiosurgery, skull base surgery, awake brain surgery, fluorescence surgery, port based surgery, robotic surgery, and augmented reality surgery. He sees patients with all types of brain tumors and cranial diseases.

“Excellent all around”

DR Ivan has been taking care of my mother who is 75 and diagnosed with a rare brain tumor. Before seeing DR Ivan, we consulted with multiple neurosurgeons, including the Mayo Clinic, but in the end, she deteriorated rapidly had we ended up at UM Emergency Room with DR Ivan who had not seen her. From the moment we met him, we were impressed with not only his medical knowledge, but also his demeanor. She did excellently with his surgery and he took excellent care from here thereafter. Dr. Michael E Ivan successfully removed my large acoustic neuroma just over two weeks ago, and I could not be happier with the overall results. He was able to preserve hearing in the affected ear, which as a pianist is incredibly important to me. “Best doctor I have had”

The best doctor I have ever had. Because of the outcome of surgery (which was very successful) i have decided not to go back to europe and live in the US. (the best doctors are here)
