I found Dr. Shrikhande to be very knowledgeable and caring. She took the time need to explain my condition and the procedure needed to reach a resolve.

When I first saw her I was in severe pain that she could barely examine me. After several treatments I could feel that I have really turned a corner and now I can say I have some relief. I will say that you may feel her treatment plan is a little aggressive but trust me it's what you'll need to reach your goal of a pain free existence.

“I'm glad I came to Pelvic Rehabilitation Medicine!”

Understanding the pelvic floor muscle is difficult. There are many factors that can affect your health in general. I am happy that I went to Allyson and learned more about my pelvic floor health. I did not find the lidocaine injection treatment effective and not sure it was necessary, but what I found more valuable was her expertise and knowledge about various treatment options, physical therapists, techniques focusing on the pelvic floor.

“She's helped me change my life”

Dr. Chudy has been exactly the doctor that I've been looking for for decades. I've had issues with my pelvic floor since my teenage years and no one could diagnose me properly. I am now nearly 40 years old and finding Dr. Chudy has been a godsend. My only wish is that I had found her sooner. Prior to seeing Dr. Chudy I wasn't convinced that I'd ever feel "normal" or "better" and it caused me so much anxiety and discomfort. “A great doctor for my very complex issues”

Dr Chudy knew more than most doctors I've seen for my very multi-faceted chronic medical conditions. She and I devised treatment plan, which we had to reinvent based on many issues and, in the end, I am 80% relieved of my symptoms, which have been going on for years. After visiting my PC and gynecologist I felt not heard or helped. Being in despair I tried my own ideas such as yoga exercises for my pelvis and was able to control my pelvic pain condition somewhat. I still decided to follow through with my appointment with Dr. Ahmed---what a brilliant step on my part!

The pelvic exam was thorough and what I learned from the doctor about the importance of the actual condition of the pelvis muscles (tight, not tight, in-between) was so helpful for the follow-up work with the pelvic therapist---and for my own exercising at home. While I didn't need a lot of the therapies usually prescribed for pelvic pain sufferers, it was great to be educated on the range of possible therapies for this debilitating
condition. It gave me so much confidence just knowing what was available to me...

I came to treatment with Dr. Ahmed after several months of ineffective treatment and feeling frustrated that I wasn't being heard. From my first appointment and each successive appointment, Dr. Ahmed took as much time with me as I needed, listened intently, and explained in great detail the pelvic structure and sources of my symptoms. Dr. Ahmed worked not only ON treating my symptoms, but she worked WITH me to find the right balance of treatment, medication and physical therapy that resulted in an individualized care plan. The staff is friendly, caring, and welcoming. I highly recommend Dr. Ahmed and encourage all to seek help from Dr. Ahmed sooner rather than later. Don't wait for a treating clinician to tell you to go to a "specialist." Start with Dr. Ahmed.

I have been experiencing levator ani pan for over 30 years. I have been to over 5 doctors but it was only diagnosed 5 years ago. I had numerous treatments, including botox and valium and physical therapy.
I found Dr Ahmed through a GOOGLE search. I live 30 minutes away from her office but she is the only doctor who specializes in pelvic floor disorder on Long Island. She understood, completely my symptoms, and has a 6 week program for me and I am starting to be spasm free!

Dr. Ahmed dedicated 2 hrs during my first appointment, to go through all the pain I have been experiencing in my pelvic area for years, recurring pain while urinating, pain during sex, terrible cramps on my period, constipation, sudden pelvic pain after spending time sitting down; and then she got a full picture to provide a diagnose and a tailor-made treatment for me. Her diagnosis of my problem was accurate and her treatments offered me much relief. in addition she suspected that I might also have a hernia so she sent me for an MRI. Initial interpretation was that I did not have one, but she did not feel the MRI report was accurate so she she my MRI to a hernia specialist who saw that I actually had two hernias. Her entire staff are equally professional and easy to deal with.

I came to see Dr. Ahmed after my diagnostic laparoscopic surgery to confirm and excise endometriosis, but saw no improvement in my symptoms. Dr. Ahmed was kind, understanding, and informative, and spent more time with me during our consultation than any provider has before. In my experience it has been extremely difficult to find providers that are knowledgeable about endometriosis and pelvic floor dysfunction but Dr. Ahmed gave me every single tip and trick to reduce my symptoms. I felt so heard and understood. I am so thankful for my time with her and would (and do) recommend her to anyone with any sort of pelvic pain/symptoms.

“My life has improved!!!”

Dr. Reutter diagnosed me with pelvic floor hypertonia, which explained all of the symptoms that I was having. I started with PT and had some improvement, but Dr. R. found that there was still hypertonia, and recommended the injections. Zero pressure, just a recommendation. I went through with them, and my symptoms have gone from consistent and insufferable to rare on mild. Dr. Reutter's guidance and treatment have improved my life overall. With my physical symptoms improved significantly, I've noticed a great improvement in my mental health as well! I'm grateful that I had the courage to walk into an office that most dudes probably wouldn't... and I sincerely thank Dr. Reutter and his staff!!!

I was in a terrible place when I started with Dr. Reutter - but he helped me turn it all around! He provided excellent care, excellent referrals, and took time to answer all of my many questions. He also was super understanding when I was a little rX averse :) 6 months later and I am feeling so much better! I appreciate not waking up a million times a night to go to the bathroom :) Finally- some sleep!
