Dr. Leishear changed my life. Without Dr. Leishear, I would not have been able to live a normal life. I have been suffering with pelvic floor dysfunction for 13 years and have seen more than 10 doctors and 5 pelvic floor physical therapists during that time. My symptoms flared again in June and my PT mentioned that a new clinic recently opened in Birmingham. I called and made an appointment for an evaluation at Pelvic Rehabilitation Medicine with Dr. Leishear. My experience with the initial evaluation was nothing short of stunning! She spent at least an hour with me and it was obvious that she spent the time to review all my medical history including testing done (MRIs, CTs, X-rays) and treatments (including an InterStim implant). She suggested a 4 part treatment plan to include a series of 6 weekly injections, an Rx for Lyrica & compounded suppositories, and a return to pelvic floor PT. I wrestled with the decision to have the injections, mostly because of the cost, but ultimately decided that my health was worth the money. Six months later, I feel 80% improved!

I've seen countless medical professionals in multiple specialty areas over the past 13 years in attempt to diagnose and treat chronic pelvic pain and recurrent UTIs. My current pelvic floor PT told me about Dr. Leishear and I decided to schedule a visit. I was so impressed with Dr. Leishear's probing questions, lengthy and comprehensive intake process. She didn't rush me and truly listened to my story. After a full exam she suggested I try injections targeting pelvic floor nerves. Although there was no guarantee and the injections are quite expensive, I decided my health was worth the money to try a new technique.
