I was quite impressed with Dr. Welch and Manhattan Cardiology. I had more diagnostic tests performed there, over a couple of hours, than I had had the entire period before my valve replacement in Atlanta in 2015, and his staff moved like clockwork. They sent me home with a monitor to wear for five days or so, and scheduled followup thereafter. All on my first visit! I found the professionalism exhibited by Dr Welch and his team to be truly amazing!

Doctor was phenomenal but it literally took 3 hours of day time to get through the appointment which is absolutely unacceptable. The support staff at the reception could be more courteous and more coordinated and more attentive. It just shouldn’t take 3 hours to get to the doctor for a ten minute conversation and for only drawing blood.

Excellent. However, must take issue with what seemed like a bait-and-switch.

While I made an appointment to see Dr. Welch, when I arrived the nurse practitioner told me he was unavailable and was doing administrative work. After I complained, Dr. Welch did indeed see me, which I appreciate. However, if I make an appointment to see a specific doctor, I expect to see that physician, not someone else. If the office cannot guarantee that I see the doctor of my choice, I will move to another practice.

Dr. Welch and his team are the best. Went in and was treated very well from reception through all of my tests. All were well trained and not rushing to get me out. Explained everything as we went along and had all my test results within 10 minutes after completing tests. Dr. Welch explained my results and advised me on his recommendations to better my health.

The only thing is that the wait time for each step is too long, for example, I waited 20 minutes to see the nurse assistant, then another 20-25 minutes to see Dr. Welch. This doesn't include the wait time (30 mins) before I was called to a room.

It was my first time seeing a cardiologist and I was nervous about it. I imagined that they would berate me for eating less than healthfully and not exercising. That did not happen. All of the people I saw explained things clearly and helped me understand my condition and treatment options (for high blood pressure, in my case). No one was judgemental and they were willing to work with me and my lifestyle to figure out how to help me get healthier. I really liked this place. If you are nervous about going to see someone, I would definitley recommend them. It's very convenient that the lab and all the testing is on site.

Thank you both to Dr. Welsh and Dr. Wester. My appointment started on time and they were thorough and attentive. They took time to answer my questions and showed me the test results on screen.

My one complaint is not with the doctors but rather with the absolutely dismal phone services that Manhattan Cardiology and MOM have. It is nearly impossible to get through, to the point where we have had to physically go to the offices in person in order to get simple stuff done. Please look into this and try calling yourselves from a number that’s not your own to experience what patients go through. You may be losing patients unbeknownst to you.

“RELAXED BUT PROFESSIONAL, EASY MANNER....”

Dr. Welch is friendly, but professional; I like his manner. I do wish that he had gone into more detail about the results of my cardia stress test. About all he said was your heart is fine, which made me feel good. Later, I began to think about what might not be fine since I know there are some symptoms of heart murmur and I have high blood pressure, which goes quit high in emotionally stressful situations. While his one-liner was reassuring, I would have appreciated a sit-down review with more information.

I would also suggest a rewriting of the pre-test instructions and would be happy to provide detailed comments, if anyone is interested.

....for all my other doctors. Since I typically have my nose in my Kindle when he walks in and he wants to know what I am reading; then we have a brief book discussion. I usually have a few questions and he always takes the time to provide thorough and thoughtful answers.

Dr. Welch explained - as I understood him - that I would most likely need to increase my dosage level of my medication soon, pending the results of my blood work. I wished he had explained more what he described as the "iterations" of cardiologic care and practice in this regard.
