“Great doctor!”
I was diagnosed with hyperparathyroidism after discovering that the two parathyroid glands on the right side of my thyroid were not functioning properly. As a result, I was referred to Dr. McHenry, who suggested removing my entire thyroid because the right side of my thyroid had a huge nodule that was compromising my esophagus. I questioned having my entire thyroid removed since I was diagnosed with hyperparathyroidism and not hyperthyroidism. In other words, the parathyroid glands were the issue and not my thyroid. Dr. McHenry took the time to listen to my concerns and requested further testing. After doing so, he decided that it was unnecessary to remove my entire thyroid. I cannot express how much I appreciate the fact that he is a doctor that actually LISTENS. Additionally, the surgery went very well. Not only did I avoid having my entire thyroid removed, I avoided not having to take medications every day for the rest of my life, which is very important to me.
I can't express how much I appreciate Dr. McHenry.
