“Staff is demeaning!”
I went to Dr. Kissin for knee injections today. Due to ice on my walkway it took me forever to salt, break up the ice. I have to be careful since I am over 60. I was about an hour late. I did call about 8:00 am to let them know I was going to be late, if that was okay. The machine came on and said wait until they open at 9:00 am.
As I approached the receptionist Cathy, she gave me an earful about being late. I tried to explain the situation because the last time I was there, I was 1/2 hour early and waited over an hour for Dr. Kissin.
She said if I was late again I would have to reschedule. I thanked her and sat down to wait. A few minutes later, the young girl Chrissie came to get me. That's where it went downhill. Now Chrissie pulled out all the stops scolding me about being late. I launched into my explanation. Chrissie who was probably 40 years younger and doesn't have to worry about breaking a hip, yet, was unsympathetic. I said, "Look I waited 2 hours for Dr. Kissin and I did not complain." Chrissie insisted I was lying about calling the office because the answering service should have picked up. But I told her they didn't. I thought when I said", I think the doctor should know about how rude you are" I thought the doctor would have understood. I was very wrong. Dr. Kissin, although has a good reputation was also rude, condescending, and backed up Chrissie.
In fact, he told me to leave and find another doctor.
