Please beware.

I do not write this lightly but I feel it is necessary. This man should not be practicing. To begin he believes it is still 1988 and approaches everything with an antiquated philosophy. For example he said that it is not possible to hack computers- the technology did not exist to allow for this. This is just an example of his being in the stone age. He is not well read and completely ignorant of any new treatments- he will not accept anything that does not fit with his antiquated philosophy. What is most disturbing is his disregard for confidentiality. He was never authorized to speak to parties I knew yet he did. His overall manner is unprofessional. He would eat during sessions and at times food fell from his mouth. He keeps dogs during sessions and has no control of them. One in particular would go to the bathroom on the floor during sessions. He would stop the session and say "wait, she had an accident". No apology or anything- he makes it clear the comfort of his dogs comes before the patient. I never had one appointment start on time, he was either walking his dogs or making his coffee. He was a nightmare for me and anyone considering him should be very careful. He also had the practice of double billing- it seemed he always had a problem keeping records regarding co-payments as I would get numerous double bills.

Agree with other reviewer - Beware!

In couples therapy, John takes exhaustive "family of origin" background on each person which can burn through oh say, 5 or 6 sessions before you get to the meat of the "therapy." When you do get to the therapy, he doesn't seem to recall much of what you discussed, nor does he seem able to connect the dots as promised. During sessions, he unapologetically lets his cell phone ring until it goes to voicemail. He noisily unwraps protein bars, and audibly chews them while you're pouring your heart out. Several times, he smiled or laughed during heated exchanges with my partner, creating the impression that he was enjoying the show, or thought perhaps he was in a saloon swapping bawdy tales. He burps (softly) and takes off his shoes. Who could want more?
