I was destroyed from what was to be a simple procedure in NYC turned into disaster

“1000/10 exceptional doctor, thank you”

WOW in an understatement. First of all after almost 2 years, he made my eye finally not tear ( 3 hours and going ). I could cry from happiness. Dr. Nichols and his primary assistant Emma, were unbeliavable. Not only were they very competent, very professional but I also got to experience compassion from a fellow medical care professional. I had waited for this appointment for a month, and last night I found out that my insurance was switched and thus was out of network. Being a nurse, I was worried it would cost me a lot. I couldn’t believe my ears when Dr. Nichols said “ I just want to fix this for you, don’t worry about the money”. And he charged me for a fraction of what I should have paid. Emma was also kind to provide me alternative options for the low cost medication. Genesis in the front desk spent all morning with me trying to figure out my insurance. This office, I can say with confidence cares about their patients. Second time here, each visit excellent. Thank you Dr. Whigham

Non existent communication from the Surgery Center in Brentwood marred a very positive outcome. We were told to expect a 45 minute delay due to a previous practitioner running late and pushing back all of the procedure times. In fact we had to endure an over 3 hour wait so a scheduled 1:00 procedure time was pushed back until 4:19 pm! My Mom is the patient and is 92 yrs old; hadn't eaten since 7:00 am that morning as per instructions. The elderly cannot be expected to endure that large of a delay. I asked for updates and was told by staff there weren't any. Very disappointing

Dr Edward Marcus is a very intelligent doctor. He understands his patients nervousness about getting shots in the eyes so he will start a conversation about anything to distract you from the inevitable. Most of the time that talk will become a joke that will make me laugh. Not only does that show his intelligence, but also consideration, empathy and caring for a human being. There should be more doctors like him.
