I've had severe chronic depression for 24 years, take medication to stay functional and still have really tough times every year. I've been coming to Dr. Steve Rudack for a little over a year now. I am 54 years old and my body is just not in the shape it was 20+ years ago.
One of the ways I try to stay in shape is through softball, a favorite hobby of mine. I put a team last spring together and entered a city league that consists of 7 weeks of double-headers. During that first week, I pulled a hamstring. Throughout that season, I was basically recouping from that. I incurred a couple more issues during the summer/fall, but they were minor compared to that first injury. The different techniques he used on me has helped me to strengthen my muscles that I hadn't been using in quite some time. I have now played through 4 "seasons" of softball since last April and can say that without Dr. Rudack's help, I would probably be back on the bench. I'm a nurse and I initially came in to see Dr. Rudack and his team after recommendation from my father. I was experiencing severe migraines, neck/back pain, and intermittent numbness in my hands and feet. After an initial diagnosis, Dr. Rudack came up with a plan best suited for my issues and needs. I have been getting regular spinal adjustments, and after about a week and a half of getting them, I have stopped taking my prescribed headache medicine because I simply don't need it anymore, plus I have been getting better sleep (something that I can say that I haven't had in a long time). I have also found to have better balance and the numbness in my hands and feet has completely gone away. I've seen a chiropractor for years for my neck but when I threw out my back and my regular provider was on Spring Break I took to healthgrades.com and found Dr. Rudack. I never understood the phrase 'threw out my back' before I did it and was lying on the floor unable to move screaming in pain. Dr. Rudack is not your average Chiropractor he doesn't automatically offer up pain drugs or surgery. He provides an overall wellness diagnosis and treats the issue. After carrying two 10+ pound babies the dics in my lower back were compressed and causing me an enormous amount of pain. I couldn't stand up straight, I could not sit down w/out pain. At 3 1/2 week post injury my pain is significantly reduced and I can go about my normal activities, which include chasing around a toddler and carrying my 5 month old and nursing without crying in pain. I am so grateful for his care and so happy to be able to avoid surgery.
