I had the Ream and Run shoulder replacement. After meeting Dr, Carofino and his Athletic Trainer Brice Snyder the procedure and recovery process was well explained. It put my mind at ease about having it done. Because I live out of state I received several calls from Brice and Telemedicine visits with Dr. Carofino checking on my recovery. The whole experience was good and I wouldn’t hesitate to have my other shoulder done if the time comes.

This visit was my first visit with the practice. While I was expecting to see Dr. Carofino I instead was scheduled with his PA. Well this initially frustrated me, I quickly learned that Dr. Carofino‘s PA was more than capable of handling my elbow and wrist injuries and was consulting with Dr. Carofino for care. So far I’m very pleased with my experience and it reminded me of a practice in my former hometown. The staff was genuine and caring and even had a great sense of humor. Knowing that I will have future orthopedic needs from a prior broken back that talks to me daily I’m happy to have found my new orthopedic office and would highly recommend them.

Nurse showed me to exam room in a polite manner, ask a couple questions and said the Dr. would be in shortly. Dr. arrived and rotated my right arm in several directions to find where the most painful position was. Then he sowed me the MRI and where the shoulder had been injured.

I know the building is old but its hard to believe all the signs concerned about spreading a virus and there was 1/4 in. of dust on the window sill. Stained ceiling tiles are an eye sore. There were too many workers in the reception area for the amount of patients. I observed two of them do absolutely nothing during my 45 min. wait (I was 30 minutes early for my appointment). The nurse that removed my staples was fantastic, I think her name was Nikki. Brice Snyder examined my shoulder thoroughly. He answered every question and I felt like the only patient he had all day. You have some very dedicated people at AOC but you have some you could do without.

I fell and had a wrist fracture, more specifically, a scaphoid fracture. This is a nasty fracture because the bone likes to die. Mine had a pretty good prognosis but we opted for a surgical repair for a faster recovery. Post op was a breeze. Placed in a removable cast so I could shower! Then 5 weeks later a really comfy splint! Again to wear at all times but really comfy. Healing well. Now up to me!

We tried a couple types of injections for treatment of pain, numbers in both my shoulders. When they didn't entirely correct the issues further investigated into issues with cervical spine causing the issues and X-rayed, findings showed injuries from MVA and referred me to Dr Clifford for further testing and diagnostics.

I trust Dr. Carofino's judgment and expertise regarding rotator degeneration. He suggested I complete physical therapy before deciding on surgery, and that is what I am now doing. We will re-evaluate if surgery is necessary after PT is completed. My only area of discontent is that most of the staff and doctors are not wearing masks any longer. At the time of my visit, July 2022, we are still experiencing Covid outbreaks, and I was very surprised they were not wearing them, nor requiring patients.

Great guy and surgeon. He did the ream & Run I On my left shoulder in 2016 . My right shoulder is bothering me now we’re trying some conservative treatments on it. Thanks to Dr. Carifino after the ream & run I was lifting weights again. I was doing shrugs with with 405 pounds in 4 months after surgery. He’s done 2 shoulder replacement surgery’s left and right on my mother. She’s out of pain and has a great quality of life. He’s the Best.

After standing in line for about 10 minutes with other patients who were there for their 8 AM appointments (a problem that should be addressed by management), my name was called quickly and Dr. Carafino came into the exam room within a minute or two. His treatment was given as I had requested. His cautions and advice that were given may not have been what I wanted to hear, but he was point-on and it was obvious that he had reviewed my history before my appointment. I am 73, but have never been seen by a physician who I believe has more knowledge and skill within his specific area of the medical profession. Plus, he’s seems to be a really nice guy, who sincerely cares about his patients well-being.

They heard me and in less In less than 10 munutes I had shots in each thumb and I was anticipating my next woodworking project. The staff reflects the leadership of Dr Carafino... Genuinely happy to see you and really want to make you as functional as your 80 year old body can be.

I had carpometacarpal arthroplasty. It was a painful recovery. Surgery results/and care at 3 months post op is excellent. I had excellent occupational therapy at Sentara Hand Therapy associated with AOS at Princess Anne. With these two offices I got the best care that I think that I could have ever had! Thank you Dr. Carifino, Tracy PA, Ruth Tubbs (OT) and Brooke (OTA) !!!

I had a shoulder injury he treated me for my in 2017 and 2018. I re-injured it in 2020, so I went back to see him. He explained my condition and gave me my options and explained the surgery procedure clearly. I really like him as my doctor!
