“Unbelievable success in treating a years-old broken wrist”
After letting a broken wrist sit for over 10 years, I saw Dr. Glickel when the pain became unbearable while working out. He diagnosed me with a "Scaphoid non-union advanced collapse," or "SNAC'd" wrist. Apparently the bone had broken way back when and never healed right, and I was developing arthritis through the joint. He suggested a surgery, the Malerich procedure, that would remove the affected bone; he would perform the surgery himself.
The surgery was comfortable and easy. After getting the surgery, my recovery went exactly as he described, and he stayed available at all hours to answer any questions. After weeks of follow-ups, my wrist is now starting to improve over its pre-surgery condition -- I can start doing some push-ups for the first time in years!
I can't thank Dr. Glickel enough. Without his suggestion, I would have ended up getting a wrist fusion, with a significantly worse range of motion and harder recovery.
