He quickly checked the ears and helped to ensure they would heal by prescribing medication. He saw me again shortly after to check them. I have seen him yearly since then, and he always checks my ears, has an audiologist test my hearing and makes me feel good about the hearing I have.

Dr Smouha is a gentlemen and suggested I take gabapentin and Maalox and return 30 days which I will do. I have a deep earache, inflammation every time i eat and drink and a constant salty metallic taste coming from the top left side of my mouth. I trust Dr Smouha and I will do exactly what he said. Hopefully if my condition persists I will get new images and some lab work.

I felt confident in his assessment of my condition and that he was recommending the proper treatment and expected outcomes. I just wish there had been more time taken with me. I understand it was busy but I did feel like just another patient walking through the door. The procedure was a bit nerve wracking and would have liked more explanation on what to expect, that I may experience pain, and that maybe to take tylenol before the injection would be a good idea so as to not be in so much pain. I would have also appreciate a staff member , be it a PA or RN or NA , whatever, staff with me through the first 2-5 uneasy minutes post injection. I was extremely dizzy which they said I would be and I knew it would pass but having someone there just sitting with me would have been so , so appreciated. I would have really been a much more patient-focused experience.
