It was a good experience with Dr. Ireland. She actually saw an interim treatment before doing cataract surgery which was 'low pressure glaucoma' - something I've never heard of. I was honestly a bit skeptical. But I've been putting the prescribed drops in my eyes for maybe 3 weeks now and I do sense my vision improving which is somewhat miraculous to me. I'm a computer programmer and was having trouble reading text, and as I type this review I can see the text much more clearly than a month ago. I'm obviously quite impressed with that.

Of course, she did the surgery, but I was sedated and didn’t really talk to her. I have worn glasses since high school. I invested in the more expensive lenses. Now I have 20/20 vision and don’t require glasses. I am thrilled!

Everything was explained to me in detail. All my questions were answered. I was treated very well. The results for my cataract surgery was excellent. I chose multi-focal lenses which were pricey but well worth the expense. No glasses after wearing them for 30 years. I can watch tv, read a book, and read road signs. Overall, I am a happy camper.

Imagine a room full of geriatric patients who have certain expectations that may seem excessive, at times. The nurse who took care of me was very kind and patient. If I may make some suggestions a: 1) serve some beverages so the patients waiting can drink something; 2) play some soft music; 3) remind your staff that some of us are hard-of-hearing, and therefore may not understand what is being said.

I can see my ball on the green for the first time in years, even with just one eye done. If the second eye comes out this good, I will be ecstatic with my result. I feel that it is the responsibility of the doctor/practice to find a suitable antibiotic for the patient. They should have at their disposal several alternatives in case the patient is allergic to antibiotics. I felt that I was on a treadmill trying to get clearance for the drugGatifloxacin. Allergist in The Villages would test for penicillin. UF Health Shane’s would not test for Gatifloxacin. When I called your office back they said they could use Polytrim…so I set up another appointment to set up surgery. Assistant gave me all the needed info about surgery and I thought it was a GO then Dr. Ireland came in and said she would not do surgery using Polytrim and that I needed to find someone to do allergy testing for Fluoroquinolonels. After consulting with an optometrist friend…I’ve decided your practice is not a FIT for me, I will go somewhere else for a second opinion. I would NOT recommend your practice to any of my friends.
